Laisrén

Laisrén (also spelled Laisren) is an Irish masculine given name. It derives from the Old Irish Lassarén, a compound name meaning "flame bright" or "shining flame." The name is composed of the elements lassar meaning "flame, blaze, flash" and the diminutive suffix –én.

Laisrén is associated with several historical figures, most notably Saint Laisrén mac Nad Froích (died 571 AD), also known as Saint Molaisse of Devenish, an early Irish saint and abbot. Devenish Island, located in Lower Lough Erne, County Fermanagh, was the site of his monastery.
