Kerry O'Brien (athlete)
Kerry O'Brien (born 7 May 1951) is an Australian former long-distance runner. He is best known for winning a bronze medal in the 3000 metres steeplechase at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Canada. He also competed in the marathon at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, finishing in 39th place. O'Brien represented Australia at several World Cross Country Championships throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He was a prominent figure in Australian athletics during his competitive career, known for his strong performances in both track and road racing. Post-retirement, O'Brien has remained involved in the sport as a coach and mentor.
