Kenneth Benjamin (judge)
Kenneth Benjamin is a retired Belizean jurist who served as the Chief Justice of Belize from 2010 to 2020. Prior to his appointment as Chief Justice, he served as a judge of the Supreme Court of Belize starting in 2003.
Benjamin's tenure as Chief Justice was marked by efforts to improve judicial efficiency and reduce case backlogs within the Belizean court system. He also played a role in advocating for judicial independence and upholding the rule of law.
His career in law extends beyond Belize, having worked in legal capacities in various Caribbean countries, including the Bahamas and Jamaica. He has also been involved in legal education.
Upon his retirement as Chief Justice in 2020, he was succeeded by Michelle Arana.
