KOI-7

KOI-7, also known as Kepler-7, is a star located in the constellation Lyra. It is a G-type star, slightly larger and more massive than the Sun. KOI-7 is notable primarily for being the host star of Kepler-7b, one of the first exoplanets discovered by NASA's Kepler space telescope.

Kepler-7b is a hot Jupiter exoplanet, significantly larger than Jupiter but much less dense. This low density makes Kepler-7b unusually "fluffy" compared to other gas giants. Its discovery and study have contributed significantly to our understanding of planetary formation and atmospheric properties of exoplanets.

KOI-7's designation refers to its status as a Kepler Object of Interest, a star system identified by the Kepler mission as potentially hosting transiting exoplanets. While Kepler-7b is the only confirmed planet in the KOI-7 system, further observations and analyses might reveal additional celestial bodies. The star's coordinates and other physical properties are cataloged in various astronomical databases.
