Junoon (1992 film)

Junoon is a 1992 Indian Hindi-language psychological horror film directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starring Rahul Roy and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. The film is loosely based on the Hollywood film An American Werewolf in London (1981). The plot revolves around Vikram (Rahul Roy), a young man who is attacked by a wild animal in a forest and subsequently starts transforming into a tiger during the full moon. He struggles to control his transformations and the violent urges that come with them, while also trying to maintain his relationships, particularly his romance with Nita (Pooja Bhatt). The film explores themes of inner conflict, the struggle against primal instincts, and the destructive nature of uncontrollable urges. It is known for its special effects, particularly the transformation sequences, and its exploration of psychological horror within a Bollywood context. The music, composed by Nadeem-Shravan, was also popular.
