Josh Wise
Josh Wise (born May 11, 1983) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He is best known for his association with Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency, which led to significant sponsorship and fan support during his NASCAR career.
Wise began his racing career in motocross before transitioning to stock cars. He competed in various NASCAR series, including the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Camping World Truck Series (now Craftsman Truck Series).
His popularity surged in 2014 when the Dogecoin community, inspired by a Reddit campaign, raised funds to sponsor his No. 98 Phil Parsons Racing Ford in the Cup Series. This sponsorship garnered considerable media attention and highlighted the potential for crowdfunding and online communities to support racing teams. Wise's performance at Talladega Superspeedway that year, where he finished 20th, was a particularly memorable moment for his Dogecoin-backed efforts.
While Wise has largely stepped away from full-time racing, he remains a figure associated with cryptocurrency and its intersection with motorsports. He continues to engage with fans and the Dogecoin community.
