Joseph Kerr (Wisconsin politician)
Joseph Kerr (born August 26, 1827, died April 1, 1899) was an American farmer, businessman, and politician from Wisconsin. He served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and the Wisconsin State Senate.
Born in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, Kerr moved to Wisconsin in 1850, settling in Walworth County. He engaged in farming and various business ventures. He held local office, including serving as a town supervisor and chairman of the town board.
Kerr was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1868, representing Walworth County. He later served in the Wisconsin State Senate representing the 11th District from 1875 to 1876. His political affiliation was Republican.
After his time in the legislature, Kerr continued to be involved in agriculture and local affairs in Walworth County. He died in Whitewater, Wisconsin.
