John Wells (British politician, born 1925)

John Wells (1925 – 2000) was a British Conservative politician. He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Maidstone from 1959 to 1974.

Born in Hythe, Kent, Wells was educated at Eton College and Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Prior to entering Parliament, he was involved in horticulture, running a family nursery business.

During his time in the House of Commons, Wells was a backbench MP known for his contributions to debates on agriculture and horticultural matters, reflecting his professional background. He also served on various parliamentary committees.

Wells lost his seat in the February 1974 general election. He did not return to Parliament.
