John Martino (actor)

John Martino (1937 – 2019) was an American character actor best known for his roles in films and television, often playing tough guys and gangsters. He is perhaps most recognizable for his portrayal of Paulie Walnuts' cousin, Johnny Dio, in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather (1972).

Martino's acting career spanned several decades, including appearances in films such as The Honeymoon Killers (1970), Serpico (1973), and Death Wish (1974). He also made numerous guest appearances on television shows, including Kojak, Baretta, The Rockford Files, Starsky & Hutch, and Miami Vice. His roles often involved playing criminals, detectives, or other figures on the fringes of society.
