Jimmy Roy
Jimmy Roy is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He primarily played right wing and was known for his tenacious play and penalty killing abilities.
Roy played major junior hockey in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Swift Current Broncos and the Seattle Thunderbirds. He was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, 63rd overall.
Although drafted by Dallas, Roy never played for the Stars. He spent the majority of his professional career in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Michigan K-Wings, Kalamazoo Wings, and Manitoba Moose. He also played several seasons in the International Hockey League (IHL) with the Kalamazoo Wings.
Roy's career spanned from 1995 to 2011, largely in the minor leagues. He was a consistent and reliable player at that level, contributing both offensively and defensively. He developed a reputation as a hard-working player and a fan favorite in the cities where he played.
