Jan Hladík (artist)
Jan Hladík (born January 23, 1928, in Prague, Czechoslovakia; died May 21, 2016, in Prague, Czech Republic) was a Czech painter, printmaker, and illustrator. He is known primarily for his landscape paintings, often depicting scenes from the Czech countryside, as well as his figurative works. Hladík's style evolved over his career, encompassing elements of realism, impressionism, and abstraction. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under Professor Vratislav Nechleba. Hladík exhibited extensively both in Czechoslovakia and internationally, and his works are held in numerous public and private collections.
