In Dreams (After the Burial album)

In Dreams is the fourth full-length studio album by American progressive metal band After the Burial. It was released on November 19, 2013, through Sumerian Records.

The album represents a stylistic shift for the band, incorporating more melodic elements and clean vocals alongside their established djent-influenced sound. It is the only After the Burial album to feature Anthony Notarmaso on clean vocals, in addition to his primary role as harsh vocalist.

In Dreams was recorded with Will Putney at The Machine Shop Recording Studio in Belleville, New Jersey. The album's title refers to the themes explored within the lyrics, which deal with concepts of dreams, reality, and the subconscious mind.

The album received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its musicianship, experimentation, and songwriting. Some criticism was directed towards the integration of clean vocals, with opinions varying on their effectiveness. Key tracks on the album include "Of Dream and Day," "Aspiration," and "Virga."
