Hispavox

Hispavox was a Spanish record label founded in 1953 by Rafael Trabucchelli. It became one of Spain's most important and influential record companies, particularly during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Hispavox played a significant role in the development and popularization of Spanish pop, rock, and folk music.

The label was known for signing and promoting numerous iconic Spanish artists, including Raphael, Rocío Dúrcal, and Mecano. Hispavox also licensed international artists for distribution in Spain.

In the 1980s, Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) acquired a stake in Hispavox, eventually taking full ownership in 1985. Under BMG's ownership, Hispavox continued to operate as a label, although its independent identity gradually diminished.

In 2008, BMG merged with Sony Music Entertainment, and the Hispavox catalog became part of the Sony Music Spain holdings. While the Hispavox name is less prominent today, its legacy as a pivotal force in Spanish music history remains significant.
