Hertsa (river)
The Hertsa River is a small river in the Chernivtsi Oblast of southwestern Ukraine. It is a left tributary of the Prut River.
The river's source is located near the village of Verkhni Synivtsi, and it flows generally southeast. The Hertsa flows through the city of Hertsa, which derives its name from the river. The river has a length of approximately 31 kilometers (19 miles) and a drainage basin of 273 square kilometers (105 square miles). The river is primarily fed by snowmelt and rainfall. The river’s water is used for irrigation and local water supply.
