HMS Wolfe
HMS Wolfe was a Royal Navy armed brig during the War of 1812. She served on Lake Ontario as part of the British naval squadron competing with the American fleet for control of the lake. Launched in 1813 at Kingston, Upper Canada (present-day Ontario), she was larger and more heavily armed than many of her American counterparts on the lake, giving the British a temporary advantage. She participated in several engagements, including actions at Burlington Heights. The Wolfe's presence and firepower were a significant factor in British naval strategy on Lake Ontario until larger ships were constructed and launched by both sides, eventually shifting the balance of power on the lake. After the war, she was decommissioned and eventually sold. Details regarding her eventual fate are scarce.
