HMS Fame

HMS Fame was the name of several ships of the British Royal Navy:

• HMS Fame (1651), also known as Fairfax, was a 50-gun fourth-rate frigate launched in 1651 and lost in 1653.

• HMS Fame (1665) was a 6-gun pink purchased in 1665 and sold in 1667.

• HMS Fame (1705) was a 24-gun sixth-rate frigate launched in 1705 and captured by the French in 1708.

• HMS Fame (1744) was a 14-gun sloop, formerly the civilian vessel Young Eagle, purchased in 1744 and sold in 1747.

• HMS Fame (1759) was a 74-gun third-rate ship of the line launched in 1759. She saw action in the American Revolutionary War and was broken up in 1814.

• HMS Fame (H68) was an F-class destroyer launched in 1934. She served in World War II and was sold for scrap in 1948.
