Georgi Minchev (musician)
Georgi Minchev (Bulgarian: Георги Минчев) (3 February 1943 – 18 February 2001) was a popular Bulgarian rock and blues singer, guitarist, composer, and songwriter. He is considered a pioneer of Bulgarian rock music.
Minchev began his musical career in the early 1960s, performing primarily blues and rock and roll covers. He quickly gained recognition for his distinctive voice, energetic performances, and charismatic stage presence. He was known for his raspy vocals and often irreverent lyrics.
Throughout his career, Minchev collaborated with numerous Bulgarian musicians and bands. He achieved widespread popularity with songs like "Bela S Momicheto S Kosata," (The Girl with the Hair), "Edin Nenujen Tezhak Den," (One Unnecessary Heavy Day), and "April." His music often reflected social commentary and his own personal experiences.
Minchev's discography includes numerous studio albums and singles. He remained a prominent figure in the Bulgarian music scene until his death in 2001. He is remembered as one of the most influential and beloved figures in Bulgarian rock history.
