Geoffrey (Dean of Lincoln)
Geoffrey was Dean of Lincoln Cathedral from 1120 to 1133. Very little is known about his life prior to his appointment as Dean. He appears to have been appointed by Alexander, Bishop of Lincoln, and he held the office until his death. His primary significance lies in his tenure as Dean during a period of important building and development at Lincoln Cathedral, likely involving the ongoing rebuilding efforts following the devastating fire of 1141. It is believed he contributed to the planning and execution of the cathedral's architectural advancements during his time. He was succeeded as Dean by Walter. The records concerning his activities are scant, providing limited details about his administrative or liturgical contributions beyond his presence as head of the chapter.
