Flashmob (album)
Flashmob is the debut studio album by the Belgian synth-pop band Telex. It was released in 1980 by Sire Records. The album is characterized by its minimalist electronic sound, deadpan vocals, and ironic lyrics. It features a mix of original compositions and quirky cover versions of songs such as "Rock Around the Clock" and "Twist à St. Tropez," all delivered in Telex's signature robotic and intentionally awkward style. The album is considered a pioneering work of electronic pop and is noted for its influence on later artists in the genre. Its subversive and experimental approach set Telex apart from other synth-pop acts of the time.
