Fikardou

Fikardou is a traditional village located in the Nicosia District of Cyprus. Situated in the Pitsilia region of the Troodos Mountains, it is considered a living museum due to its well-preserved 18th-century architecture. The village was largely abandoned during the 20th century as residents moved to larger towns and cities, but it has since been revitalized through restoration efforts and promotion as a cultural tourism destination. Key features of Fikardou include its traditional houses built of local stone and red clay tiles, narrow winding streets, and the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. It has been designated as an Ancient Monument by the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus.
