Euchromia
Euchromia refers to a normal skin coloration, or the state of having a healthy complexion. It signifies a balanced production and distribution of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye color. Euchromia is often used in a medical context to describe the absence of abnormal skin pigmentation conditions such as hyperpigmentation (excessive pigmentation) or hypopigmentation (lack of pigmentation). The term contrasts with conditions that result in either darker or lighter than normal skin tones. It does not imply any specific shade of skin color, but rather a skin tone considered to be within a healthy and expected range for an individual's genetic background and environmental exposure. In dermatology, the evaluation of skin for euchromia is a basic step in assessing overall skin health.
