Ernest Seitz
Ernest Seitz (1892-1978) was a Canadian composer and pianist, best known for his composition "The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise." Born in Galt, Ontario (now Cambridge), he studied music at the Toronto Conservatory of Music and later at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin. He worked as a pianist and composer throughout his career, often performing his own works. While he composed a variety of pieces, including works for orchestra and piano, "The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise" remains his most enduring and widely recognized contribution to music. The song has been recorded by numerous artists and has become a standard in various genres. Beyond composing, Seitz was also involved in music education and mentoring young musicians.
