Eric Rush
Eric Rush (born April 20, 1965) is a New Zealand former rugby union and rugby sevens player. He is best known for his long and successful career with the New Zealand national sevens team, the All Blacks Sevens, where he played as a forward and captained the team for many years.
Rush was a key figure in the growth of rugby sevens on the international stage. His leadership, commitment, and on-field performance helped establish New Zealand as a dominant force in the sport. He led the All Blacks Sevens to multiple World Sevens Series titles, Commonwealth Games gold medals (1998 and 2002), and a Rugby World Cup Sevens victory in 2001.
In addition to his sevens career, Rush also played for the All Blacks, the New Zealand national rugby union team, in 1992. He represented North Harbour in provincial rugby.
Following his playing career, Rush has remained involved in rugby, working as a commentator, coach, and administrator. He has also become a motivational speaker and is known for his work with youth and community groups. Rush was inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame in 2012.
