Electoral district of Glenelg (Victoria)
The Electoral district of Glenelg was a single-member electorate of the Victorian Legislative Assembly in Australia. It was located in the Western District of Victoria and existed from 1856 to 1877. Its boundaries generally encompassed the Glenelg River region.
During its existence, the district returned two members to the Victorian Legislative Assembly simultaneously from 1856 to 1859 under proportional representation. From 1859 to 1877, it elected a single member.
Notable members who represented Glenelg included Hugh Childers, who later became a prominent British politician, and Archibald Fisken.
The electorate was abolished in 1877 and largely replaced by the electoral district of Dundas. The boundaries of subsequent electoral districts in the area have changed significantly over time.
