Elán (musician)
Elán (born Elán DeFan, August 11, 1983, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico) is a Mexican singer-songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. She is known for her primarily English-language rock and pop songs, often characterized by introspective lyrics and catchy melodies.
Elán gained mainstream popularity in the early 2000s with her debut album Street Child (2003), which featured the hit singles "Simple Girl" and "Midnight". She independently writes, produces, and records her music, maintaining creative control over her projects. She plays various instruments, including guitar, piano, drums, and bass.
