Dunnart

A dunnart is a small, carnivorous or insectivorous marsupial native to Australia. They belong to the family Dasyuridae and are classified within the genus Sminthopsis. Dunnarts are characterized by their slender bodies, pointed snouts, large ears, and long, thin tails. Their fur is typically grey or brown, often with a lighter underside.

Dunnarts occupy a diverse range of habitats across Australia, from arid and semi-arid regions to woodlands and grasslands. They are primarily nocturnal and terrestrial, foraging on the ground for insects, spiders, small lizards, and other invertebrates. Some species also consume small mammals and birds.
