Dunayskaya (Saint Petersburg Metro)
Dunayskaya is a station on Line 5 (Frunzensky Radius) of the Saint Petersburg Metro. It is located between the stations Mezhdunarodnaya and Prospekt Slavy. The station opened on October 3, 2019, as part of the southern extension of Line 5.
Dunayskaya is a deep-level station with island platform access via escalators from a surface vestibule. The design of the station is themed around the Danube River, hence the name "Dunayskaya," which translates to "Danube" in Russian. The platform walls and other interior elements incorporate blue and white colors, evoking the river and water imagery. The surface vestibule is integrated into a shopping complex near the intersection of Bukharestskaya Street and Belgrade Street.
The area surrounding the station is primarily residential, with a mix of Soviet-era apartment buildings and newer developments. The station provides convenient access for residents to the city center and other parts of Saint Petersburg via the metro system.
