David Farquhar (politician)

David Farquhar (born c. 1947) is a former Australian politician. He served as a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, representing the seat of Werriwa from 1989 to 1991.

Prior to entering state politics, Farquhar was a high school teacher. He unsuccessfully contested the seat of Werriwa at the 1988 election.

In 1989, a by-election was held for Werriwa following the resignation of sitting member, Bob Carr. Farquhar won the by-election. He served a single term, losing the seat to Liberal candidate Anne Cohen at the 1991 state election.

After leaving parliament, Farquhar returned to education. Details of his activities following his political career are limited.
