Dave LaRue

Dave LaRue is an American bass guitarist known for his virtuoso technique, melodic playing, and versatility across various genres including jazz fusion, progressive rock, and rock. He is highly regarded for his use of the extended upper register of the bass, employing intricate chord voicings and soloing capabilities.

LaRue is a long-standing member of the Steve Morse Band, having played alongside guitarist Steve Morse (of Dixie Dregs and Deep Purple fame) for several decades. He is also a member of the progressive rock supergroup Flying Colors, featuring Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Casey McPherson, and Steve Morse.

In addition to his work with bands, LaRue has released several solo albums showcasing his bass playing prowess and compositional skills.
