Dadaneh
Dadaneh, also spelled Dādāneh, is a traditional Persian confection, most commonly a type of nut brittle or candy. The exact ingredients and preparation methods can vary regionally. Generally, it consists of roasted nuts, such as almonds, walnuts, pistachios, or a combination thereof, that are caramelized with sugar or honey. Saffron is often added for flavor and color. The mixture is then spread thinly and allowed to cool and harden, resulting in a brittle, crunchy treat. Dadaneh is often enjoyed during festive occasions and celebrations in Iran. The texture can range from thin and delicate to thicker and chewier, depending on the recipe. Variations may also include the addition of spices like cardamom or rosewater.
