Correos (Barcelona Metro)

Correos was a station on Line 3 of the Barcelona Metro. It was located under the Moll de la Fusta, near the old central post office (Correus in Catalan) and close to the harbor in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. The station was notable for its elaborate, unfinished platform decorations.

Correos station opened in 1925 as part of the original Gran Metro line (later Line 3). It served as a terminal station for the line until the extension to Drassanes was completed in 1968. The station was closed in 1972, reportedly due to low passenger traffic and its proximity to Barceloneta and Drassanes stations.

While officially closed, Correos station has remained largely intact and has appeared in various media, including films and television shows, due to its unique and preserved condition. The platforms are adorned with tiling and advertising posters from the period of its operation, giving it a time-capsule quality.
