Co Breman

Co Breman (born Cornelis Breman, February 10, 1907, Zwolle – December 27, 1996, Soest) was a Dutch artist, primarily known for his paintings, drawings, and prints, often depicting landscapes and cityscapes. He was associated with the "Fijnhout Group" (Fijnhoutgroep), a group of artists in the Netherlands after World War II who focused on realism and technical skill. Breman's style is generally considered representational, with a strong emphasis on light and atmosphere.

Breman studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (State Academy of Fine Arts) in Amsterdam. He developed a distinctive style characterized by a refined realism and subtle use of color. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, including Italy and France, and these travels influenced his artistic output, with many of his works capturing the essence of the places he visited. He was a member of Arti et Amicitiae, a prominent visual arts society in Amsterdam. His work can be found in various museum collections and private collections in the Netherlands. He also worked as a teacher, sharing his knowledge and techniques with younger generations of artists.
