Cluses

Cluses is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. It is located in the Arve valley, about 50 kilometers (31 miles) east of Geneva.

Historically, Cluses is significant for its watchmaking and micromechanical industries. This specialization developed in the 18th century, evolving from the need to produce components for clockmaking in the nearby Jura mountains.
