Cipayung
Cipayung is a subdistrict (kecamatan) located in East Jakarta, Indonesia. It's known for being a relatively green and leafy area, especially compared to other parts of the densely populated Jakarta metropolitan area. Cipayung is primarily a residential area, with a mix of housing types ranging from simple kampungs (villages) to modern housing complexes.
Historically, Cipayung was largely agricultural land. Over time, as Jakarta expanded, it became more urbanized. While some green spaces remain, Cipayung is increasingly characterized by residential and commercial development.
Administratively, Cipayung is further divided into several kelurahan (urban villages). Key features of Cipayung include several lakes or reservoirs, which serve as both water sources and recreational areas. The area also offers a variety of local restaurants and food stalls.
Cipayung is accessible via various modes of transportation, including buses and taxis. The presence of several schools and educational institutions contributes to its reputation as a family-friendly area.
