Christopher Landon (screenwriter)
Christopher Landon (born February 27, 1975) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer best known for his work in the horror and comedy genres.
Landon's career began with screenwriting credits on films such as Disturbing Behavior (1998) and Another Gay Movie (2006). He gained wider recognition for writing several installments in the Paranormal Activity franchise, including Paranormal Activity 2 (2010), Paranormal Activity 3 (2011), Paranormal Activity 4 (2012), and Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014), often collaborating with other writers and directors.
Landon has also achieved success as a director. He directed the horror-comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015) and the commercially successful and critically acclaimed Happy Death Day (2017), a horror film that incorporates a time loop narrative. He directed and co-wrote the sequel, Happy Death Day 2U (2019).
His directorial work also includes Freaky (2020), a body-swap horror-comedy. He directed the Netflix film We Have a Ghost (2023). Landon's work is often characterized by its blend of horror elements with comedic timing and self-aware humor, contributing to the growing trend of "horror-comedy" within contemporary cinema.
