Charles Stokes (artist)
Charles Stokes (born 1945) is an American realist painter known for his still life and trompe-l'oeil works. He is particularly recognized for his meticulous depictions of everyday objects, often rendered with a high degree of detail and illusionistic precision.
Stokes's work often features vintage or antique items, such as postcards, stamps, tools, and ephemera, arranged in carefully composed settings. His paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and invite viewers to examine the history and stories embedded within these objects.
