Boscombe

Boscombe is a suburb of Bournemouth, Dorset, on the south coast of England. Historically part of Hampshire, it became part of Dorset in 1974.

Boscombe developed rapidly from a small village in the mid-19th century, largely due to the efforts of Archibald Smith, who purchased the manor in 1841 and began to lay out the area as a resort. He commissioned the construction of Boscombe Pier in 1889, further enhancing its appeal.

Boscombe is known for its distinctive architecture, including the Royal Arcade and the Grade II listed Boscombe Pier. The area also features a beach, gardens, and a vibrant high street offering a mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Significant landmarks include the O2 Academy Bournemouth, a popular music venue, and Boscombe Chine Gardens. Boscombe's cultural scene has seen revitalization efforts in recent years.
