Blue Heaven (1994 TV series)

Blue Heaven was a British television sitcom that aired in 1994 on the ITV network. Created and written by Terry Kyan and Tony Millan, the series starred Deborah Grant and Richard Griffiths as Fiona and Graham Matthews, a middle-aged couple who decide to leave their stressful London life behind and retire to a remote cottage in Cornwall.

The premise of the show revolved around the culture clash between the Matthews' expectations of idyllic rural life and the often eccentric and occasionally hostile reality they encounter in their new village. Their attempts to integrate into the community are frequently met with suspicion and misunderstanding, leading to comedic situations.

Richard Griffiths' performance as the grumpy and often exasperated Graham was a key element of the show's humor. Deborah Grant played the more optimistic and adaptable Fiona, who tries to bridge the gap between her husband and their new neighbors.

Despite featuring two established comedic actors, Blue Heaven was not a critical or commercial success and ran for only one series of seven episodes. It is now considered relatively obscure.
