Benkehøa

Benkehøa is a mountain in the municipality of Lesja in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the Dovrefjell mountains, within Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella National Park. The peak reaches a height of 1,722 meters (5,650 ft) above sea level. The mountain is primarily composed of gneiss and is characterized by a relatively gentle slope, especially on its eastern side. The area around Benkehøa is known for its alpine tundra vegetation and is home to diverse wildlife, including reindeer, arctic fox, and various bird species. The mountain is a popular destination for hiking and skiing, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Its location within a national park ensures the preservation of its natural environment.
