Batfink
Batfink was a cartoon character created by Hal Seeger, the star of a series of 5-minute animated shorts that aired in syndication in the late 1960s. Batfink is a crime-fighting bat with metal wings that provide him with great power. He is known for his distinctive catchphrases, particularly "My wings are like a shield of steel!" which he would declare just before retracting his wings to deflect bullets or other projectiles.
Batfink's primary opponent was the villainous Hugo A-Go-Go, a mad scientist who concocted various outlandish schemes for world domination. Other recurring villains included Caramel, a sweet but deadly woman; and the inept mobster, Chief.
The Batfink cartoons were characterized by their simplistic animation, nonsensical plots, and frequent use of puns and wordplay. The show's humor relied heavily on self-aware gags and breaking the fourth wall, making it a notable example of absurdist comedy in animation.
Batfink's popularity has endured, making him a recognizable figure in pop culture and a subject of nostalgia for those who watched the cartoons during their original broadcast.
