Audentius (Bishop of Toledo)

Audentius was a Visigothic Bishop of Toledo during the late 6th and early 7th centuries. He is primarily known for his participation in the Third Council of Toledo in 589, a pivotal event that saw the Visigothic kingdom formally convert from Arianism to Catholicism. Audentius signed the acts of the council, affirming his acceptance of the Nicene Creed and the authority of the Catholic Church. While little else is definitively known about his life and episcopate, his signature on the council documents places him as a significant figure in the religious transition of Visigothic Spain and a contemporary of King Reccared. Further research into his potential writings or other documented activities is limited.
