Apriltsi
Apriltsi is a town located in the Lovech Province of central Bulgaria, situated in a valley in the northern foothills of the Balkan Mountains.
Geography and Demographics: Apriltsi is formed from four formerly independent villages: Novo Selo, Zla Reka, Vidima, and Ostrets. This consolidation took place in 1976. The town is situated at an altitude of approximately 600 meters (1,970 feet) above sea level. Its population is subject to change, but typically numbers around 3,000 inhabitants.
History: The individual villages comprising Apriltsi have a longer history, with evidence of settlements dating back centuries. These villages developed their own distinct identities and traditions. The unification into the town of Apriltsi was a conscious decision to create a larger administrative and economic unit.
Economy: Tourism plays a significant role in Apriltsi's economy due to its scenic location and proximity to hiking trails in the Central Balkan National Park. Other economic activities include agriculture, particularly fruit growing and animal husbandry, and small-scale manufacturing.

Nearby attractions include the Troyan Monastery, numerous waterfalls, and hiking trails in the Balkan Mountains.
