Alvin and the Chipmunks (1983 TV series)

Alvin and the Chipmunks is an American animated television series produced by Ruby-Spears Productions from 1983 to 1990. It is the second animated television series featuring Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Chipettes, following The Alvin Show (1961-1962).

The series centers around the musical and mischievous adventures of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, three anthropomorphic chipmunks who are adopted and managed by their human father, Dave Seville. Each episode typically features two original songs performed by the Chipmunks and Chipettes, which contributed significantly to the show's popularity.

The initial seasons of the show, titled Alvin and the Chipmunks, focused on the everyday lives of the characters, their school experiences, and their pursuit of musical stardom. Later seasons, retitled The Chipmunks and The Chipmunks Go to Europe, saw the characters embark on international adventures and incorporate more elaborate storylines.

A significant addition to the series was the introduction of the Chipettes: Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor, a female singing group counterpart to the Chipmunks. The Chipettes, also managed by Dave Seville in later iterations, often competed with, collaborated with, and formed romantic relationships with the Chipmunks.
