Acision
Acision, formerly known as LogicaCMG Wireless Networks, was a global messaging and mobile data company. It specialized in providing messaging infrastructure and services to mobile network operators, enterprises, and content providers.
Acision's core business revolved around enabling various messaging technologies, including SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service), and IP messaging platforms. The company's offerings allowed its clients to manage and monetize messaging traffic, deliver mobile marketing campaigns, and implement value-added services such as voicemail and call completion.
Historically, Acision played a significant role in the development and expansion of mobile messaging as a key communication channel. It provided platforms that supported the growth of SMS texting and later facilitated the introduction of richer multimedia messaging through MMS.
In 2017, Acision was acquired by Comverse. Following the acquisition, the combined entity was rebranded as Mavenir, marking the end of the Acision brand name as a separate entity. Mavenir continued to build upon the technologies and expertise acquired from Acision, focusing on providing end-to-end, cloud-native network solutions for mobile operators.
