1984–85 Division 1 season (Swedish ice hockey)

The 1984–85 Division 1 season was the season of Sweden's second-highest level of ice hockey. It consisted of four groups (A, B, C, and D) with teams playing a round-robin within their respective groups. The top teams from each group qualified for the Allsvenskan, where they would compete for promotion to the Elitserien (now the Swedish Hockey League). The bottom teams from each group faced relegation playoffs to remain in Division 1 for the following season. The Allsvenskan consisted of two groups, Norra (North) and Södra (South), with the top two teams from each group advancing to a playoff series for Elitserien qualification. The remaining teams in each Division 1 group that did not advance to the Allsvenskan or relegation playoffs participated in a continuation series to determine final standings and seeding for the following season. The season determined which teams would have the opportunity to move up to the highest league or would be relegated to lower divisions.
