The 2014 Victorian state election, held on 29 November 2014, was won by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) led by Daniel Andrews. The ALP defeated the incumbent Liberal-National Coalition government led by Premier Denis Napthine.
In the Legislative Assembly (lower house), Labor won 47 seats, the Coalition won 38 seats (30 Liberal, 8 National), and 3 seats were won by independents. This gave Labor a majority of two seats in the 88-seat chamber. Daniel Andrews was sworn in as the 48th Premier of Victoria on 4 December 2014.
