In this capacity, she frequently defended Iran's human rights record against international criticism, often clashing with Western narratives and presenting an alternative perspective rooted in Islamic principles.
- 11th Parliament (2020–2024): She was re-elected to the Majlis, continuing to be a vocal advocate for conservative policies. During this term, she was a member of the influential National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, further solidifying her role in shaping Iran's international discourse.
Presidential Candidacies Elahian has made multiple attempts to run for the presidency of Iran:
- 2021 Presidential Election: She registered as a candidate for the 13th presidential election but was ultimately disqualified by the Guardian Council, the body responsible for vetting all candidates for suitability based on constitutional and Islamic criteria.
- 2024 Presidential Election: Following the death of President Ebrahim Raisi, Elahian again registered her candidacy for the snap presidential election held in June 2024.
