Zhong Nanshan (Chinese: 钟南山; born October 20 1936) is a Chinese pulmonologist and epidemiologist who has been a prominent figure in the management of respiratory infectious diseases in China. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the control of the 2003 severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak and the COVID‑19 pandemic that began in 2019.
