Zhang Zhipeng (Chinese: 张志鹏; pinyin: Zhāng Zhìpéng; born 1 March 1989) is a Chinese professional footballer who plays as a left-back. He has spent the majority of his career in the Chinese professional football leagues, including multiple seasons in the Chinese Super League (CSL).
Early Life and Career
Born in Beijing, Zhang Zhipeng began his football journey in the youth academies of Beijing. He eventually joined the youth setup of Beijing Guoan, one of China's most prominent clubs, progressing through their ranks.Club Career
Zhang Zhipeng's senior career commenced with Beijing Guoan. He made his debut for the club but struggled to secure a regular starting spot in the competitive Beijing Guoan squad.In 2012, Zhang moved to Guangzhou R&F, where he began to establish himself as a consistent left-back. He played a more significant role in their Chinese Super League campaigns, making numerous appearances over several seasons.
Following his stint at Guangzhou R&F, Zhang Zhipeng embarked on a career that saw him play for various clubs across the Chinese Super League and China League One. This included spells at:
- Chongqing Dangdai Lifan (on loan or permanent transfer for the 2016 season)
- Inner Mongolia Zhongyou (later Hohhot Vogo) in China League One for the 2017 season.
- Beijing Renhe (2018-2020), marking a return to the Chinese Super League. He was a regular starter for Beijing Renhe during parts of his tenure.
- Shaanxi Chang'an Athletic (2021), competing in China League One.
