Yuri was a town located in Yuri District, Akita Prefecture, Japan. The town existed as an administrative municipality until March 22 2005, when it was merged with neighboring towns—Kojima, Shimojō, and others—to form the expanded city of Yurihonjō.
Geography
Yuri was situated in the southeastern part of Akita Prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan. The town’s terrain included coastal plains, agricultural land, and modest inland hills.
History
